Instead of smooth lips, a Long Island woman is claiming that a popular balm gave her sores and blisters.

A class action lawsuit filed by Nicole Emily Caggiano, of Holtsville, “says she broke out into sores at least four times last year after using the Vanilla Mint and Sweet Mint EOS lip balm, which comes in a distinct egg-shaped package,” the New York Post reports.

“Ms. Caggiano suffered another outbreak of the blisters in May 2015, and they were still present on the day of her sister’s wedding, which was extremely embarrassing,” court papers stated, according to the Post.

Caggiano filed the lawsuit Tuesday and hopes to get more than $5 million for herself and other plaintiffs for breach of warranty and deceptive advertising, the New York Daily News reported.

A class action suit similar to Caggiano’s was reportedly filed last week in California. According to the Daily News, it came “after a plaintiff named Rachel Cronin shared her story on Facebook and was followed by a flurry of others’ horror stories.”

EOS, which stands for evolution of smooth, said: “We wanted to be sure that you, our valued customers and fans, know that the health and well-being of our customers is our top priority,” according to the Daily News.

The company added that those who experience problems with their product can contact info@evolutionofsmooth.com.
