Woman jumps to her death in Midtown Manhattan, injuring elderly pedestrian

A woman leaped from a Midtown building Friday afternoon, landing on a 71-year-old woman below, reports said.

The woman, who was in her mid- to late 50s, jumped out of a window at903 First Ave., near 51st Street just after 3 p.m., according to media reports. She ended up hurting a pedestrian who was walkingby the building.

The pedestrianwas taken to Cornell University Hospital in serious condition, while the woman who jumped reportedlydid not survive.
