"Her unique insight, knowledge and contacts will be a superb addition to Metro."

Huffington launched The Huffington Post, a news and blog site that has quickly become one of the most widely read, linked to, and frequently-cited media brands on the Internet, in 2005.  The renowned syndicated columnist, who has appeared on such television programs as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Nightline, Real Time with Bill Maher, Larry King Live, Hardball, Good Morning America and the Today show, is also a prolific author who has published a total of twelve books.

"I’m often asked about working online versus working in print," Huffington said. "And I always say that it shouldn’t be an either/or proposition.  Whatever the platform, it’s all about having interesting content and delivering it in a compelling manner.  I’m looking forward to working with the Metro staff to bring their readers my take on the day’s news."
