Alec Baldwin — a man who once referred to his 11-year-old daughter as a “rude, thoughtless little pig,” and then refused to take responsibility for it — is having some sort of awakening. After allegations against the likes of various powerful men in Hollywood, from Harvey Weinstein to Brett Ratner, Baldwin is realizing that, hey, maybe he’s not been so nice to ladies either.
On Thursday night, The Paley Center for Media honored Alec Baldwin. And during a discussion with “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” announcer Steve Higgins, Baldwin made sure that every knew he’s knows about all those recent sexual misconduct allegations.
“I certainly have treated women in a very sexist way,” he admitted. “I’ve bullied women. I’ve overlooked woman. I’ve underestimated women. Not as a rule. From time to time, I’ve done what a lot of men do, which is.. when you don’t treat women the same way you treat men. You don’t. I’m from a generation where you really don’t and I’d like that to change.” OK!
Well, Baldwin, you could always work to change it yourself! We won’t hold our breath or anything, but you know, it would be great to put some action behind your words. Try it sometime!
