Avengers: Infinity War

You’re obviously a fan of these movies, so you know to stay when the credits roll. And if you’ve gone to see all the new Marvel movies so far, you know they’ve been building a back story about the return of big baddie Thanos. Now that you’re refreshed on those post-credit scenes, this recently released Marvel movie promises to unite characters from across the Marvel multiverse, including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man and Black Panther in a fight against him.
Deadpool 2
Release: May 18, 2018
Universe: X-Men Universe
Deadpool fans don’t need any reason to count the minutes until this upcoming Marvel movie is released. Still, the dark humor courtesy of Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) paired with the directing style of John Wick’s David Leitch means we’re all in for a good ride. You’ll see Cable, played by Josh Brolin, arrive from the future seeking a mutant child for a (currently unspecified) nefarious reason. Whatever Cable’s intentions, it’s up to Deadpool and a team of recruited mutants called the X-Force to stop him and save the kid.
Ant-Man and The Wasp

Of all the new Marvel movies 2018, this is the one you’ve probably heard the least about. We do know that Paul Rudd will reprise his role as Ant-Man and that he’ll be joined by Evangeline Lilly (of Lost fame) as The Wasp. Fun fact: This will be the first time a female superhero gets her name in the title since the creation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe a decade ago.
If you’re willing to wait to see Avengers: Infinity War, it might be worth seeing Ant-Man and The Wasp right before the Avengers. That because the events in this movie actually happen before those in Infinity War, even though the new Avengers flick hits theaters before the Rudd movie.
Venom
Release: October 5, 2018
Universe: Spiderverse
You’ve been hearing a lot about this one recently, including the internet’s apparent decision that Venom is the new universal character crush (replacing Pennywise from IT) based on his absurdly long tongue. We couldn’t make this stuff up, folks.
Tom Hardy will bring life to the dark version of Spider-Man, although it’s been announced that Tom Holland (who plays Spider-Man) will not appear in this upcoming Marvel movie. Whether that limits the movie plot or not is a wait-and-see, but at the very least audiences can enjoy Hardy’s incredible transformation into villain whose journey starts when he’s infected by an alien parasite.
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

Universe: Spiderverse
Another new Marvel movie 2018, another miss if you’re looking out for Tom Holland on the big screen. This version of Spider-Man, produced by Sony, is an animated version. You’ll hear Shameik Moore lending his voice to the teenage superhero in this upcoming Marvel movie as well as characters voiced by Mahershala Ali (who also landed the lead in True Detective season 3) and Liev Schreiber.
