30-year-old Amber Heard is speaking out against domestic violence in a new PSA for gender-conscious media company, Girlgaze. In their very first YouTube video, Heard encourages women to speak out against violence, and shared some personal testimony. “If a stranger did this, it would be a no brainer,” she says in the video. “As a woman having gone through this in the public stage, andin the public arena that I did it..I have a unique opportunity to remind other women this doesn’t have to be the way it is. You don’t have to do it alone, you’re not alone. We can change this.” It seems pretty obvious that Heard is referencing her tumultuous relationship with Johnny Depp. Last summer the actress accused Depp of being physically and emotionally violent during their relationship. While Heard signed a non-disclosure agreement that forbids her to talk about Depp as part of their $7 million settlement, this video doesn’t leave much to the imagination. We’re glad Heard is using her experience to support others though.
