Hasty Pudding, the Harvard-based theatrical troupe known for honoring celebrities “who have made lasting and impressive contributions to the world of entertainment,” has chosen its newest Woman of the Year: Massachusetts native, Golden Globes host, bestselling author, oh, and “SNL” star, Amy Poehler. She’ll be leading a parade through the streets of Cambridge on Jan. 29, after which the group will be putting on a production called “Oops! Madrid it again.” Prior winners include Helen Mirren, Elizabeth Taylor and Meryl Streep, so some pretty solid company for Poehler. If you’d like to see the whole thing live, tickets are $60 and available at Vendini.com. “We are extremely excited to announce Amy Poehler as our 2015 Woman of the Year. She is an accomplished performer, incredible comedian and an inspiration to everyone in the Hasty Pudding.” says Jason Hellerstein, president of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, in a statement on the group’s website. “We look forward to welcoming Ms. Poehler and celebrating and honoring her achievements in a truly unique and memorable way.”
