Has Zeus above heard our late night cries? You know, the ones where we beg over and over for Jenny Slate and Chris Evans — two people we don’t really know or have any investment in whatsoever — to kiss and makeup? Maybe!
Slate and Evans — who dated briefly and only have the kindest thing to say about each other — first inspired rumors that they had reunited after some tenacious Twitter flirting. And now, Evans has maybe gone to Washington D.C., just to see Slate perform stand up. Because he is a very supportive friend slash maybe boyfriend.
Of course friends support friends. And some friends even flirt with other friends on Twitter. But usually, friends don’t talk to Vulture about their friends (slash ex-boyfriends) like this: “I don’t mind talking about him at all. He’s a lovely person,” she says. “I don’t know. It feels like such a huge thing. Last year was a giant, big year for my heart.”
So yes, based on these little tidbits of information, and the hopes that something good will happen to rich people we don’t know, we will continue to hope and pray that this pair is back together for good. Please and thank you.
