Fifty-five years is a long time to go without a championship, though the Houston Astros’ drought is usually lost in the shuffle compared to the Cleveland Indians’ almost 70-year wait.
But Tuesday night provides the championship-less franchise with an opportunity to add a trophy to their cabinet as the Astros are one win away from their first-ever World Series title.
Justin Verlander, who has been Houston’s gunslinger since his acquisition in late August, takes the hill in Los Angeles to try and clinch things. He’s been unbeatable since joining Houston, going 9-0 with a 1.53 ERA in 10 games.
He’s even better in series-clinching games, garnering a minuscule 0.46 ERA.
After dropping that classic Game 5, the Dodgers turn to Rich Hill to try and stop the bleeding. The 37-year-old was limited to just four innings in Game 2 of the Series thanks to the managing of Dave Roberts despite allowing just one run on three hits.
Expect him to have a short leash once again though given the do-or-die nature of this game.
Here is how you can catch all the action from Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night even if you can’t get the game on TV:
