Beautiful New York City map shows all taxi routes

A beautiful map of all the taxi pickups and routes in New York City has surfaced online and it’s a great way to see the city’s kinetic energy.

The map originally came from a website called HackerNews.net from a user alled “eck.”

Eck explained that he downloaded publicly available data which was most likely NYC’s Taxi and Limousine Commission trip record data.

The map shows off a huge number of pickups from JFK and La Guardia airports, and an overwhelming majority in Manhattan.
