Bengals vs Ravens: NFL Week 10 Betting preview

The Baltimore Ravens are building momentum quickly. Their dominant win over the Broncos put them back on track after the Browns upset just one week before, and they now look to make a statement in the second of two games this season against their division rivals. The Ravens won the first contest 41-38 in an overtime thriller and a sweep could have huge postseason implications.

As for Cincy, they rebounded from a disappointing loss to the Eagles with a big win over a lesser Raiders team. The Ravens present a different challenge altogether, especially at M&T Bank Stadium where they’re 3-1 this season. The schedule isn’t particularly intimidating from here on out, but every win matters in a title fight as tight as this…especially when it comes to divisional matchups.

The encouraging aspect here for the Bengals is that they did force 38 points past an otherwise well-oiled Ravens defense. Joe Burrow was at his best against the secondary, throwing for 392 yards, with the wideouts consistently marauding the cornerbacks. Since then, Baltimore has given up 300+ yards in 2 of their last 4 games, potentially highlighting a bigger issue for the road team to capitalize on.

Lamar Jackson and company will sniff blood in the water here, however. The Bengals rank 17th in pass defense this season and have been vulnerable against the run. With Baltimore ranking 1st in run defense, if they can execute much better than they did in that lucky week 5 escape, it’s not like Joe Burrow has a reliable rushing attack to lean on, unlike the Ravens who of course have Derrick Henry at their disposal.

The Bengals have lost all of their last 3 matchups against the Ravens and 9 of the last 13.

Why the Bengals can win

They came very close to sneaking out a win in week 5 and know the importance of this matchup. Joe Burrow is coming off of a 5 TD performance against the Raiders and it’s not like he’s a stranger to what the Ravens will throw at him. The Bengals need this win more than the home team does.

Why the Ravens can win

The Ravens have been inconsistent at times this season and their loss to Cleveland last week proves that, but this is a Super Bowl-caliber team with a simply dominant defense and one of the best quarterbacks in football. Cincy struggles to run the rock and the Ravens love stuffing it. If they can dictate possession, they can avoid another close encounter and finish this one out early.

Bengals vs Ravens: NFL Week 10 Betting pick

I like the Bengals with the points here. As much as the Ravens should win outright, you can never rule out a pesky backdoor cover, especially in a series where 4 of the last 6 games have been decided by one possession.
