Bette Midler, as you may know, is a national treasure. What she says goes. So when she predicts that the “Hocus Pocus” remake will be cheap, you nod your head and say, “Yeah, actually, it will be.” And then, “Wow Midler, you really are a national treasure.”
At Midler’s annual Hulaween bash — benefitting the New York Restoration project, which Midler founded in 1995 — the “Hello Dolly” star had nothing but not-so-kind words to say about reboot, which is now in production.
“I know it’s cheap. It’s gonna be cheap… I’m not sure what they’re doing to do with my character,” she said according to Vanity Fair. “My character is very, very broad, and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.” That’s right, Midler. Nothing compares 2 u.
When asked whether she would return for the right amount of cash, Midler said, “No, no, no!”
Can’t blame her. After having watched the original “Hocus Pocus” mere days ago, it’s pretty clear that we don’t need a remake because the original is perfect. Hollywood, stop ruining our childhoods, please, thank you.
