The 28th annual Boston Freedom Rally will take place this weekend at the Boston Common, drawing thousands of revelers for three days of music, local vendors, good vibes and of course, marijuana.
Sometimes referred to as “Hempfest,” organizers say it’s the largest annual gathering of pro-pot supporters on the East Coast, and the second largest festival of its kind in the world. Hundreds of speakers are expected, as well as special guests, panels and giveaways.
The festival will kick off at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15., and will run until 8 p.m. that night. The celebration continues on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 17 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The rally is organized by the Massachusetts Cannabis Reform Coalition (MassCANN), the state affiliate of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) also known as MassCann/NORML.
