Boston set a new high temperature record Thursday when thermometers hit 66 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The unseasonably warm February day surpassed the previous record just after 12:30 p.m. — beating out a65-degree day on Feb. 23, 1990. By 4 p.m.temperatures had climbed to 68 degrees.
As of 1236pm, Boston has set a new record high temperature for today with 66°F, surpassing the old record of 65°F set in 1990.

Balmy temperatures are predicted to continue through Saturday, but forecasters said temps will get back to typical mid-winter weather by Sunday.
