A Brighton High School student is reportedly under arrest after police said he bought a stolen, loaded gun onto campus Wednesday — the same morning a shooting outside another Boston school killed one student and wounded three others.

The teen’s identity was not released by police on account of the suspect’s age. He is 16 years old and from Dorchester, according to CBS Boston.

A student told administrators that the suspect had a weapon, prompting a pat-down search from a school resource officer, who discovered the Bryco Arms Jennings J-22 handgun in his pants pocket, NECN reported. Investigators allegedly later determined that the gun was stolen.

The teen faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm on school property, unlawful possession of a stolen firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

While there’s no known connection at this time, it’s the second firearm incident tackled by Boston Public School campuses that morning: the unnamed teen was arrested the same day 17-year-old Raekwon Brown was shot outside of Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester.

Police continue to investigate that shooting.
