Burger King announced today that it will no longer exclusively offer fountain drinks as the beverage for their kids’ meals. “We have removed fountain drinks from our kids’ menu boards and they are no longer merchandised as part of kids’ meals,” a Burger King representative tells NBC. The driving reason is of course to help kids be healthier, cutting back on the sugar and calories in sodas. Instead, Burger King is offering applue juice, fat-free milk or low-fat chcolate milk as beverage options for the kids’ meals. Parents still have the option of ordering a fountain drink with the kids’ meal, but it will no longer be marketed as part of the package deal.
