One New York City resident is looking to lend a helping hand to bring warmth to those in need.
Alison Brettschneider has launched a campaign called Operation Stay Warm NYC, which is aimed at creating care packages that will be distributed to homeless individuals throughout the city.

With a history of looking for a way to give back — through work with her fashion company 25 Park -— she decided she would auction off some of her designer bags to raise the money for the packages. She said she encourages others to either find something they no longer use and can sell or to donate a few dollars.
“Remember one random act when multiplied by thousands, can change the world,” Brettschneider wrote on the campaign’s GoFundMe page.
Brettschneider plans to document the whole process of going with friends to stores such as Target to purchase items, assembling packages and finally distributing them throughout New York City.
