A Tuesday night car crash has left a pregnant woman hospitalized and the driver of another car charged in connection to the incident.
Just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Haverhill, a Jeep Cherokee driven by a pregnant woman was allegedly struck by driverJosef Leavitt, 24, according to Fox25. RELATED:Boy, 1, trapped under car after it crashes into daycare center: Report Authorities responded to the crash on Middle Road and transported the injured woman by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, WCVB reported. Leavitt now faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, Fox25 added.

A spokeswoman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett told theBoston Globethat prosecutors alleged that Leavitt intentionally caused the car crash and injured the woman, but she did not give a possible motive.
