Chip and Joanna Gaines, the hilariously quirky and wholesome couple behind the HGTV hit show “Fixer Upper,” are very open about their religious beliefs. Both Chip and “JoJo” are devout Christians. But their spiritual affiliations are coming into question after some sinister accusations against their church. Former members of Antioch Community Church in Waco, Texas, described the church’s behavior to InTouch as frightening and cultish. Another member claims she was kicked out of the church after she was diagnosed with schizophrenia but not before it attempted to perform an exorcism on her! The founder, Jimmy Seibert, denies using the word “exorcism” but claims the church believes in “demonic oppression.” Chip says that Antioch has a “mandatory” place in his life, but to stay on the safe side, we’re only offering our homes for the fixing.
