Chloe Grace Moretz turned down Taylor Swift’s squad invite

Chloe Grace Moretz is one of the most visible teen stars in Hollywood, so it’s no surprise that Taylor Swift would’ve tried to recruit her into the once-exclusive ranks of her “squad.”

And it turns out Swift, in fact, did. And it further turns out that Moretz gave her a hard pass on the offer. That’s cold. When asked by Complex magazine why she’s turned down a seat at the Swift lunch table, Moretz took the high road, refusing to elaborate and saying nothing about Swift besides, “She’s a very talented person.” And we all know what that means.

But Moretz was more than happy to critique the whole squad phenomenon in general. “They appropriate exclusivity,” she told the magazine. “They’re cliques.” That they are. And she won’t sit with them.
