Chrissy Teigen is famously an open book. But now, she’s talking about something she’s never talked about before: postpartum depression.
In an essay for Glamour, the 31-year-old model talks about her ongoing battle with postpartum after the birth of her daughter, Luna. And it will give you all the feels.
“I had everything I needed to be happy. And yet, for much of the last year, I felt unhappy,” she writes. “What basically everyone around me— but me— knew up until December was this: I have postpartum depression.” Related:Chrissy Teigen claps back on Twitter about IVF struggles
The ever candid Teigen goes on to describe how painful and difficult even getting out of bed was. “Getting out of bed to get to set on time was painful… When I wasn’t in the studio, I never left the house. I mean, never. There was a lot of spontaneous crying.”
Teigen took to Twitter after her essay came out to reassure everyone that despite writing about her struggles with depression and anxiety, she wants to be treated the same. “Please don’t feel like you have to tiptoe around me!” she writes. “It is the most uncomfortable feeling ahhhh only downside to sharing PPD.”

Although, it is pretty depressing to hear that being hot, rich, and married to John Legend isn’t enough to keep the sads away. There’s definitely no hope for the rest of us plebians.
