The Associated Press is calling Hillary Clinton the “presumptive nominee” after reporting she now has the 2,383 delegates needed to clinch the Democratic nomination for president.
Clinton is reported to have reached the magic number during primaries Tuesday.
The AP based their reports on pledged delegates from primaries, caucuses and “a survey of party insiders known as superdelegates.” Clinton only needed 26 more delegates going into the primaries on Tuesday, which included California, where the Bernie Sanders campaign put up a fierce fight.
