John Kucko’s”ice house” may look like a result of clever editing, but he swears it’s all Mother Nature.
“30 seconds of absolutely frigid Lake Ontario shoreline. Some parts look apocalyptic up there. The violent wind we’ve had the last five days has taken a toll,” Kucko wrote on Facebook after posting the video. After initially posting photos to Facebook, Kucko used the video to prove the house is truly coated in 7 inches of ice. Some people thought he had used spray foam to fake the images.
Located in Webster, New York, about 5 miles from Rochester, the beach houseis usually reserved for warmer weather, according to CBS News.
Neighboring houses facing the lake have a retaining wall, preventing this igloo-like effect brought on by the temperatures, water and wind.
“We’re probably coming off a record warm month of February, and then this happens,” Kucko told CBS News. “The waves have just been incredible.”
