Inter Milan hosts Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals this afternoon at 2:55 p.m. ET at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. The last time these clubs played was back on Oct. 29 where Inter won 3-0.
The Nerrazzuri is third in the Serie A standings with a 12-4-5 record and 40 points. They trail Napoli by eight points for the second seed, but as of now, Internazionale is in position to make the Champions League.
Their last Coppa Italia match was back on Jan. 13 where they won 6-2 over Benevento. Mauro Icardi and Dalbert Henrique each found the back of the net meanwhile Antonio Candreva and Lautaro Martínez each scored twice in the rout.
Internazionale is eighth in the Serie A in goals scored, with 31 and they are second in goals conceded with just 15.
Lazio is 9-5-7 with 32 points on the season and is eighth in the standings. They are just three points back of AC Milan for that fourth and final Champions League spot.
Lazio last played in the Coppa Italia back on Jan. 12 where they beat Novara 4-1. Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic each scored a goal in the contest as well as Ciro Immobile who scored twice.
Immobile is tied for fifth in the Serie A in goals with Napoli’s, Arkadiusz Milik. They both have 11 goals apiece.
Lazio just recently lost Martin Caceres to Juventus following Medhi Benatia’s request to be moved after he grew unhappy about his lack of playing time. Caceres has played for Juventus before. He played with them twice on loan and once more over a four-year span between 2012-16.
