There’s no surer way to raise money than stripping down to your skivvies.
That’s how the organizers behind Cupid’s Undie Run have been able to raise over $11 million in the last seven years for the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
Cupid’s is a “brief” fun-run of about a mile that takes place around Valentine’s Day in the middle of a bigparty in 47 cities worldwide.
More than 24,000 runners will brave the cold on Feb. 18, including hundreds in Boston,Philadelphia and New York, to raise awareness and fund the research of neurofibromatosis.
Registration is underway for the run, which costs $35 and goes toward Cupid’s goal of raising another $4 million this year.
The Boston run is at noon on Feb. 18, stepping off from the House of Blues on Lansdowne Street. The New York run also starts at noon on Feb. 18, stepping off fromWest 48th Steet in Manhattan.
Philly runners have the same time, but meet at the XfinityCenter on Pattison Avenue.
Cupid encourages undies, but gets that it’s not for everyone — so whether you start a team for your friends, join a team or run solo, just come out, the focus is on having fun and raising some funds.
