Dario Saric was drafted in 2014 but has yet to step on American soil (to play an NBA basketball game).
According to a Croatian newspaper, that will change this fall. The Croatian guard is heading to Philadelphia.
Saric, 22,has played in Turkey for the last two season, averaging 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in 2015-16. His Turkish club will need to buy him out for about $900,000, but the 76ers are expected to pay for most or all of this clause. “We’d like [Saric] to come over. We expressed that to him,” Sixers President BryanColangelo told reporters earlier this week.
Colangelo also chatted about Joel Embiid, who has been actively working out at PCOM while Sixersfront office members watch college athletes “audition” for the team ahead of next week’s NBA draft. He told Tom Moore of The Intelligencer that”Joel Embiid will not play summer league basketball. We can rule that out.” But he does optimisticallyexpect Embiid to be ready for the start of the regular season. As for the trio of big men the Sixers will have if Embiid is able to play? The majority of pundits and 76ers’ media members expect Jahlil Okafor to be the most likely to be moved.
