Ashley Graham is having an amazing year. After being the first plus-sized model to take the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue, she received her own curvy Barbieand was tapped to be one of the new judges on the reboot of Tyra Bank’s “America’s Next Top Model”. This month, she became the cover girl for British Vogue. Graham is an outspoken advocate for body acceptance and is changing the face, or should we say body, of fashion. But unfortunately not everyone is on board. In the editor’s letter, British Vogue’s editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman expressed her disappointment that several designers flat out refused to dress Graham for their January cover. Shulman called their decision “unwise.” We have less kind words that aren’t appropriate for a daily newspaper. There’s a bigger picture, pun intended, that designers are clearly missing.
