Though Republican President-elect Donald Trump’s term won’t begin for another 64 days, rumors are already circulating about possible Democratic candidates for 2020.
Among names like senators Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Cory Booker of New Jersey, who keep popping up on various blogs and news outlets, is New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. For now, the two-term governor intends to “to be the best governor” he can, he told the news mediaTuesday, and will seek re-election in 2018. Citing such projects as the LaGuardia Airport renovation and the new Tappan Zee Bridge construction, Cuomo said, “We have a lot of good stuff going on. … I want to finish doing what I told the people of this state I was going to do. So I plan to run for re-election, and that’s it.”
