Don’t worry, Chris Evans’ dog is doing just fine

Chris Evans

Chris Evans fans had a complete meltdown over the weekend thanks to a seemingly somber tweet by the “Captain America” star.

The 36-year-old actor shared a photo of his dog Dodger accompanied by the caption “really missing this guy right now,” which led some folks on social media to believe that his pet pooch had passed away. Say it isn’t so!

Evans’ followers were pretty emotional over what they thought was an awful moment for the “Avengers” star and flooded his Twitter page with condolences. However, Evans eventually chimed in to assure everyone that Dodger was doing fine. The best buds are just going to be seperated for a few months as Evans films his slate of upcoming flicks, including what may be one of his final appearances as the Star-Spangled Avenger Steve Rogers in next year’s “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Needless to say, his fans were happy to hear that Dodger is a good boy and is feeling A-OK. Even “Neighbors” and “Knocked Up” actor Seth Rogen was relieved over the situation.

As further proof of his canine’s healthy status, Evans tweeted out a video of Dodger enjoying some time outdoors watching birds and cars pass by.

The Boston-bred actor’s furry friend is a relatively new addition to his life. Evans actually adopted the dog after filming a scene at a kennel for “Gifted,” his recent drama co-starring his ex and fellow Bay State native Jenny Slate.

“One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel,” Evans said in an interview with People. “I foolishly walked in and I thought, ‘Are these actor dogs or are these real up for adoption dogs?’ And sure enough they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn’t belong there. I snagged him and he’s such a good dog.”
