Enter this contest for the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift: Keytar Bear

There is still time to sign up an unsuspecting loved one to get a Valentine’s Day greeting that’s about as Boston as it gets.

Lovepop, the Cambridge 3D greeting-card company and recent “Shark Tank” contestant, is letting Bostonians enter a contest for the chance to have Keytar Bear deliver a groovy message of love to the person of their choice.

Twenty winners in the Boston area will get a surprise visit from the beloved costume-wearing street performer, the company announced this week.

“What’s more unexpected at the office on an average Friday than a bear playing a keytar?” Lovepop’s co-founder and CEO Wombi Rose wrote to Metro in an email. “Just like we’re disrupting the greeting card industry—we’re going to disrupt you at work, too.”

Metro was unable to reach Keytar Bear to learn more about his Lovepop gig, but Rose told Metro the collaboration has been in the works for a while. He also didn’t rule out working with the local icon and Facebook feed staple again in the future.

“Keytar is a busy bear. Would we love to get on his schedule again? Definitely.”

The company is taking submissions for the promo via an online form until Monday.
