Alec Baldwin thinks it’s the media’s fault he called his daughter a “pig”

Alec Baldwin literally doesn’t get it.

The 59-year-old, who has been permanently blinded by his privilege, says his notorious 2007 leaked voicemail to daughter Ireland Baldwin has done permanent damage to their relationship. Not him, mind you. The voicemail.

In the leaked message, Baldwin called his then 11-year-old daughter a “rude, thoughtless little pig,” which is decidedly unchill. But according to Us Weekly, it’s the fact that people — aka the media —still bring it up that has hurt his baby girl. Not him. “It’s a scab that never heals ‘cause it’s being picked at all the time by other people,” he said, with no hint of irony. “My daughter, that’s hurt her in a personal way.” Oh gosh. I would laugh if this wasn’t just a Shakespearean inspired tragedy.
