These days, it seems like every celebrity is expecting — from Serena Williams and fiancé Alexis Ohanian, to Julia Stiles and her fiancé Preston J. Cook. But what of the babies who are already here?
We put together all the celebrities that have, so far, given birth to tiny celebrity bundles this year.
Lauren Conrad & William Tell
Lauren Conrad — a woman famous for never ugly crying once in her life on national television — welcomed her first child, Liam James, with husband William Tell on July 5. Conrad and Tell, a lawyer, tied the knot in September at a boutique winery. Clearly.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley & Jason Statham
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham — a pleasant pair that we always forget are a thing — welcomed a baby boy, Jack Oscar Statham, on June 24. Huntington-Whiteley, who has far too many names, announced the news on her Instagram with a black and white photo (of course), writing “Our little man arrived!” Aw.
Beyonce & Jay Z
The twin saviors decided to bless us with their presence in June. And although Bey herself has been mum on the subject, her father, Mathew Knowles, confirmed news that his eldest daughter welcomed a girl and a boy in Los Angeles on June 12. The twins join Blue Ivy, 5, and are very glamorous.
Based on trademark documents the couple filed, rumor has it that they’ve named the little ones Rumi and Sir. Rumi, we can get down with. Sir, on the other hand, well. As long as there are “Apples” and “Pilot Inspectors” running around the playground, we guess little Sir ought to be fine.
George & Amal Clooney
If you haven’t guessed by now, twins are very in. George and Amal Clooney welcomed their own set of doubles, named Ella and Alexander, on July 6. The couple quickly released a statement, assuring the adoring public that Amal, Ella and Alexander were all doing great, and that George was “sedated and should recover in a few days.” Classic them, or whatever!
Zooey Deschanel & Jacob Pechenik
Zooey Deschanel — the most famous, most twee manic pixie dream girl in the land — and husband Jacob Pechenik welcomed a son, Charlie Wolf, in early May. They already share a daughter, Elsie Otter. We present those names to you without comment.
Ciara & Russell Wilson
Ciara and Russell Wilson welcomed Sienna Princess Wilson on April 28, and Ciara went the Instagram route for her announcement, because that’s the cool thing that cool moms do now. “Dear Sienna Princess Wilson,” she wrote. “No matter how big the wave, we will always be your calm in the storm.” Deep!
Oscar Isaac & Elvira Lind
Everyone’s favorite Internet boyfriend welcomed a son named Eugene with his longtime partner, Elvira Lind, in April. And in case you were wondering why you didn’t know Isaac and Lind were even together, you’re not alone. The pair are intensely private when it comes to their relationship — except that time Isaac brought Lind with him to the Golden Globes. Once.
Bradley Cooper & Irina Shayk
Russian supermodel Irina Shayk and Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Cooper welcomed a daughter, Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper, in late March. The very private couple went to great lengths to keep Shayk’s pregnancy on the hush hush, going as so far to fashion a variety of knitwear and outerwear as some sort of protective field around her stomach on a trip to Disneyland earlier this year. That’s chill!
Amanda Seyfried & Thomas Sadowski
Talk about a whirlwind romance! In a matter of several months, “Les Miserables” star Amanda Seyfried and “The Newsroom” actor Thomas Sadowski were engaged, married, and had a kid. The couple reportedly eloped in early March, and then announced the birth of their daughter on March 24.
Benedict Cumberbatch & Sophie Hunter
Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter welcomed their second son, Hal Auden Cumberbatch, on March 3. The couple, who have been married since 2015, already share another son, Christopher “Kit” Carlton.
Amber Tamblyn & David Cross
Amber Tamblyn and David Cross went the Instagram route too, but with their own spin. “David and I are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Dauphinoise Petunia Brittany Scheherazade Von Funkinstein Mustard Witch RBG Cross Tamblyn-Bey Jr. #TheFutureIsFemale.” Tamblyn revealed a few weeks later that the baby girl’s actual name was Marlow Alice Cross, which is a shame.
Natalie Portman & Benjamin Millepied
Many suspected Natalie Portman was skipping the Oscar ceremony this year because she was pregnant. Turns out, she had already had the baby. The “Jackie” actress and her husband Benjamin Millepied welcomed a baby girl named Amalia on February 22, four days before the ceremony. They’re already parents to a son named Aleph, aged 5½.
Hoda Kotb
Hoda Kotb — yes, that one, of the day drinking Kathie Lee and Hoda pairing — adopted a baby girl named Haley Joy in March. “She is the love of my life,” Kotb said at the time. Sweet!
Zoe Saldana & Marco Perego
Zoe Saldana is up on the Instagram birth announcement trend, too. The “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” star announced the news of the birth of her third child, Zen, on the social media app. “Marco and I are elated to share the news of the birth of our son Zen,” she wrote on February 18. “We couldn’t feel more blessed with the new addition to our family.”
Pharrell Williams & Helen Lasichanh
Talk about “Lucky.” Pharrell Williams and his wife, Helen Lasichanh, welcomed triplets — yes, triplets — in early January. The babies’ names are still under wraps, but the couple does share an eight-year-old son named Rocket Man, because of course.
Janet Jackson & Wissam Al Mana
We certainly can’t forget Ms. Jackson. The “That’s The Way Love Goes” singer and her soon to be ex-husband Wissam Al Mana welcomed son Eissa Al Mana on January 3. He’s really cute! Of course, three months afterwards, the couple split, because as most of us know, babies don’t save marriages.
