The new Ariana Grande album dropped on Friday at midnight and fans already have a lot to say about it.
Within minutes (or seconds) of Sweetener becoming available on all music streaming platforms, fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts and excitement about the 25-year-old singer’s fourth studio album.
Prior to the release of Ariana Grande’s new album, fans got a taste of her new music after she released the album’s lead single, “No Tears Left To Cry” in April, followed by “The Light Is Coming” featuring Nicki Minaj in June, and “God Is A Woman” in July. All three singles made it to the Billboard Top 100 chart, with the debut single “No Tears Left To Cry, reaching as high as the No. 3 spot on the Top 100 charts.
Many of her diehard and dedicated fans (Arianators) showed tremendous excitement for the new Ariana Grande Album, dubbing the release date as “Sweetener Day.”
“Sweetener is her best album,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “It’s her way of moving forward with her life, her music, her style. Everything. If you don’t appreciate her new style, you need to just go listen to her other music because this is the Ariana Grande she is proud to be.”
Other fans, however, were not as impressed by the new Ariana Grande album Sweetener.
“The only positive thing I have to say about Sweetener is that Ariana Grande tried something different. Other than that, it was a mess, another person posted to Twitter. “Bland production, lyrically lacking, and for some reason she neglects her biggest asset: her voice. This album was not it.”
Twitter reacts to new Ariana Grande album Sweetener
The fact that ariana added 40 seconds in “Get Well Soon” as a moment of silence until it was 5 minutes 22 seconds long, due to the date of the attack was on 5/22. I don’t think she could do anything any better to show her respect for the angels ♡ ♡ @ArianaGrande #Sweetener

“Get Well Soon” is 5:22. The Manchester attack was May 22nd. Ariana added a 40 second silence at the end of the song to make it that duration to honour the victims of the attack. I’m sobbing ??? #Sweetener

Why is Sweetener album cover upside down?
The artwork for Sweetener features an upsidedown portrait of Ariana Grande against a soft colored background. According to the 25-year-old singer the reason why the Sweetner album cover is upside down.
“I showed Aaron a photo and he was sitting opposite me and he said, ‘I even love it upsidedown’ and that was kind of it for me. At the time, I had been feeling v ‘upsidedown’ for a while and the simplicity of that was like, ‘Oh duh, wow. My bestie a genius.’ Everything clicked after that,” she wrote in response to a fan’s question on Twitter.
