Whether or not Netflix‘s acquisition of You season 1 from Lifetime has resulted in 40 million views in a single month remains to be seen. Even so, the distressingly popular series about a stalker turned murderer is already gearing up for its second season. Here’s everything you need to know about You season 2 on Netflix, including the new cast member who was just added to the mix.

You season 2 on Netflix adds a new cast member

In the final episode of You’s first season on Lifetime, the lowly bookstore manager Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) finally faces off with the object of his disastrous and unhealthy desires and kills her. Now that Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) is out of the picture and the other murders have been blamed on someone else, what’s a psychopathic stalker to do? Find another young woman to obsess over, it seems.

Hence The Haunting of Hill House star Victoria Pedretti, whom Netflix announced on Wednesday had been cast in You season 2. She will play an aspiring chef based in Los Angeles named Love Quinn. Goldberg has since fled New York for the west coast following the events of season 1, so it makes sense that the show’s next chapter (and target) would be located there.

Quinn may be more interested in becoming a culinary master, but with as competitive as that field is, You season 2 find her working as a produce manager at a grocery store. Precisely how she and Goldberg first meet, and how the latter ultimately becomes infatuated with her, remains to be seen. What is known, however, is the fact that the character “is uninterested in social media and living life online” and spends her time “tending to a deep grief.”

The Haunting of Hill House was Pedretti’s first major acting role, though it landed her a spot in Quentin Tarantino’s all-star Charles Manson movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Nabbing the lead female role in You season 2 will ensure her place in the current pop cultural lexicon for the foreseeable future.

When will You season 2 premiere on Netflix?

As for when You season 2 will see the light of day on Netflix, only time will tell. The first season premiered in mid September on Lifetime. With production gearing up for the second season, chances are good that You season 2 will debut sometime in mid to late 2019 on the streaming platform.
