Now in the home stretch, it’s more important now than ever to do your research on the waiver wire. Be sure to check out Rotoballer.com’s Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Tool for up-to-the-hour waiver wire advice and ideas, and to follow me @Roto_Dubs for quick-hitting news and analysis.

Explosive Rookie Providing Spark for Surging Seahawks

Rookie C.J. Prosise led the way for the Seahawks in their victory over the Patriots in Week 10, and it bodes well for his future prospects. Prosise not only led the team in rushing (66 yards on 17 carries), but he also provided a much-needed boost in the passing game with seven catches for 87 yards. Thomas Rawls will be back in the mix soon having fully healed from a broken fibula, but Prosise has done enough to earn touches both as a complement to Rawls and as the primary pass-catching back. He should be a top waiver add this week.

Jeffery Suspension Clears the Way for Royal

With Jay Cutler back under center for the Bears, there was very little fantasy value for anyone but his top two pass-catchers, Alshon Jeffery and Zach Miller. With Jeffery now suspended for four games, Cutler will have no choice but to utilize his secondary receivers, specifically Eddie Royal. Royal has the most history with Cutler, and while Cameron Meredith has more upside given his skill set I trust Royal to have a higher weekly floor.

More Mouths to Feed Means Montgomery’s Days are Numbered

Ty Montgomery thrived in Weeks 6, 7 and 9 as the only healthy option in the Packers backfield. However, with long-time backup James Starks finally fully recovered from knee surgery Montgomery took a back seat once again. Starks had 10 touches to Montgomery’s five, and it is likely that the ratio will skew even more in Starks’ favor as he gets back up to speed. Montgomery has some limited value as the pass-catching back and with his wide receiver eligibility, but his days as an every-week starting option are done.

NFL Sleepers of the Week

Each week we will identify three players worth taking a shot on in deeper leagues.

Cameron Brate, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – With the Tampa Bay receiving corps still banged up, Brate is the clear number two option behind Mike Evans. With a touchdown in three straight weeks, Brate is a low-end TE1.

Rob Kelley, RB, Washington Redskins – Kelley is the clear starting running back in Washington, and while he draws a tough matchup against Green Bay he should see the volume and goal-line touches to make him an RB2.

Robert Woods, WR, Buffalo Bills – Woods was a revelation against the vaunted Seahawks in Week 9, and he’ll once again be Tyrod Taylor’s top option against a beatable Bengals secondary.
