It’s that time of week again.
With fantasy football leagues hopefully experiencing enough injury woes that the damage is evenly distributed, there is no doubt your team has been affected after some costly recent weeks.
Here is the latest on a few key players who may or may not need replacements in Week 4.
Arian Foster, RB Dolphins
Miami head coach Adam Gase — who announced this week that TE Jordan Cameron was out for Week 4 after getting a concussion — also said he is not optimistic about Foster’s return Thursday night against the Bengals. Some combination of Jay Ajayi and Kenyon Drake will be used to fill the void once again.
Shane Vereen, RB Giants
The Giants backfield is in shambles currently, with both of New York’s top runners nursing injuries. The latest was a torn tricep suffered by Vereen, who will be out for the rest of the season. Rashad Jennings has a good chance of suiting up in Week 4, and if he doesn’t Orleans Darkwa will be the man behind Eli Manning.
Ryan Mathews, RB Eagles
The Eagles have an early bye week, so chances are their RB1 Mathews could heal his ankle up before a Week 5 match against Detroit.
If he winds up missing time, Darren Sproles is an important man on the waiver wire — as could be rookie Wendell Smallwood who ran for 79 yards and his first NFL touchdown in Sunday’s win over Pittsburgh. Doug Pederson also mentioned he expects Zach Ertz to be back in Week 5. Russell Wilson, QB Seahawks
Wilson hasn’t missed time, but has not been full strenght this season. He has an MCL sprain but Seattle head coach Pete Carrol told the media”we feel like he’s going to be fine.” Another injured Seahawk, Thomas Rawls, has been ruled out for Week 4 so if Christine Michael is the man in the backfield.
Jamal Charles, RB Chiefs
The Chiefs do-it-all back has yet to play in 2016 but Andy Reid says “there’s a chance” he comes back in Week 4.
Until Charles is officially deemed ready to go, his backup Spencer Ware is a must-own in all leagues.
Jeremy Langford, RB Bears
After injuring his ankle, yet another nightmare is coming to fruition for Chicago. Estimates are that the running back will be out for 4-6 weeks.
Jordan Howard is the next man up in his stead and a key add in fantasy leagues — especially with Jay Cutler still sidelined.
Tyler Eifert, TE Bengals
Cincinnati’s big tight end is working his way back from a foot injury, and according to head coach Marvin Lewis Eifert is close to making his return.
Michael Floyd, WR Cardinals
Floyd is in the NFL’s concussion protocal and will likely be out next week. Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown will pick up the slack a bit in his abense.
Sammy Watkins, WR Bills
On the other side of last week’s Arizona-Buffalo matchup is Sammy Watkins, who was listed as questionable but sat out the Sunday victory. Monitor his status midweek as to whether he can play in Week 4.
