Injuries in the NFL are always fluid situations and many of this weeks injury-related headlines deal with players working to return to the field as hard as they can.
With more than half of the fantasy season in the rearview, each game matters more and more. Here’s the latest on a few key players and how to react with your roster:
Alex Smith, Chiefs
If you have Alex Smith or are in need of a quarterback due to bye weeks, Andy Reid said his quarterback is going to suit up in Week 10 against the Panthers — “as long as there are no setbacks.” With Spencer Ware still sidelined expect Kansas City to be a bit more pass happy Sunday.
Doug Martin, Buccaneers
The Bucs are hopeful that Martin could return — as soon as this week — but he’s yet to show up at practice so Tampa is digging deep. If Martin stays off the field, he will join Jacquizz Rodgers, Charles Sims and nowAntone Smith on the injury list. None of them will play, leaving Peyton Barber andMike James to split carries. Derrick Henry, Titans
The rookie running back will miss up totwo weeks with a strained calf, Mike Mularkeysaid this week. His injury will only have a positive effect on Tennessee’s No. 1 RB DeMarco Murray — who is having yet another breajout season. Allen Hurns, Jaguars
Hurns is in the concussion protocol and will likely miss Week 10 along with fellow Jacksonville wideoutBryan Walters. Their absences only increase the value of the team’s No. 1 WR Allen Robinson.
