Fantasy football: latest injury news on Will Fuller, Spencer Ware and more

Another week, another long list of additions to the injury list for fantasy football players. Here’s a look at the latest on several key skill players:

Will Fuller, Texans

The rookie wideout is in the midst of a breakout year with Houston — but exited Sunday’s game with a knee injury after making just one catch for 23 yards. Fuller hurt his leg in the game and it could be an injury related to a hamstring issue he had in Week 5.If Fuller misses any time, the value of DeAndreHopkins, and to a lesser extent Braxton Miller will go way up.

Spencer Ware, Chiefs

The Kansas City backfield continues to get thinner, with Ware the latest running back to exit the field with an injury. A concussion could keep Ware out for some time, and with Jamaal Charles also sidelined,Charcandrick West will get more carries in weeks to come until the two backs ahead of him heal enough to hit the field.

Alex Smith, Chiefs

Another bruise to the Chiefs — hanging in there in a jam-packed AFC West, is the concussion sustained by QB Alex Smith against the Colts. Nick Foles filled in pretty well in his absence to bring in the Week 8 victory and he’ll be the starter as long as Smith is sidelined.

UPDATE: The Chiefs have announced that they don’t think Smith has a concussion. He was held out of the game Sunday due to the protocal but he could be back under center next week.

“That’s what an unaffiliated [neurological consultant] believes, that’s what [team doctor Mike] Monaco believes, that’s what I believe now,” trainer Rick Burkholder told ESPN Monday. “He’s been absolutely asymptomatic.”

Jacquizz Rodgers, Buccaneers

The Bucs, like the Chiefs can’t catch a break behind center. With Doug Martin and Charles Sims already out, Rodgers left Sunday’s game with a limp and did not return. If Rodgers can’t play next week,Peyton Barber and Antone Smith are the next two men on the lineup sheet. They’ll be worth monitoring and adding via free agency.

Martellus Bennett, Patriots

Bennett has taken a back seat to Rob Gronkowski in recent weeks, but his ankle injury could make him worth dropping in your league if you have another usable tight end.

DeSean Jackson, Redskins

Jackson left Sunday’s London game with concussion-like symptoms but it was announced he did not have one. He did not return and his playing-status will be worth monitoring closely.
