Last week Fergie, 42, and Josh Duhamel, 44, announced that they had stopped doing the whole marriage thing earlier this year, after eight years of wedded bliss and four years of hanging out with their son Axl. Ugh. They couldn’t even spell “Axl” right.
Thankfully, Fergie is making the rounds for her new album and dishing on said split. Especially all that time they were pretending to still be together. “Honestly it was just getting a little weird for us with all the romantic questions,” she said.
“We’re great friends we love each other so much, and it just got to the point where it was getting a little weird … There’s no perfect time so we just decided to do it.”
Their break up appears to be amicable, so far. But it seems it was a long time coming, feel me? “They have been leading separate lives for a long time,” an insider told People. “She wants to be out on the road doing her thing, while he is more chill. They clashed for a long time before they did anything about it.
“They come from totally different backgrounds and they wanted different things,” the insider continued. ”In the beginning, it was what attracted them to each other and made them so fun to be around.” Ah, irreconcilable differences. A tale as old as time.
