Former Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick tweets denial of ‘vile and horrific’ rape allegations

Update Nov. 9, 5 p.m.: Ed Westwick of Gossip Girl fame tweeted a denial in the face of two rape allegations, calling the alleged assaults “provably untrue.”

Westwick called the accusations “disheartening and sad” adding he looks forward to clearing his name.

Update Nov. 9, 3:30 p.m.: Second woman comes forward; Accuses Gossip Girl alum Ed Westwick of rape

A second woman has accused Ed Westwick, the actor known for his former role on Gossip Girl, of sexual assault. Actress Kristina Cohen accused the star of rape on Monday, an allegation Westwick took to social media to deny.

On Wednesday, Aurélie Wynn wrote on Facebook that Westwick sexually assaulted her in July 2014 at a home he was renting, her words echoing those of Cohen.

“… I said no and he pushed me face down and was powerless under his weight,” Wynn wrote. “I was wearing a one piece bathing suit that he ripped, I was in complete shock, I am also very tiny.

“When it was over I got my cellphone and found that the girl that had invited me had left or got kicked out. … I told the guy I was seeing that I got raped, Mark Salling, and when he found out by who he pretended not to know him, then blamed me for it and broke it off with me. My other friends and people around me told me it was best not to say anything, to not be ‘that girl’ and that no one would believe me and think I was just out trying to get my 10 seconds of fame.”

Los Angeles Police are investigating Cohen’s claims. Westwick’s team did not respond to the Huffington Post for comment.

“I believe you Kristina Cohen and thank you for speaking up so eloquently and really encompassing what young female actresses have to go through at the hands of men like Ed Westwick,” Wynn added to the end of her post, which features a screenshot of a headline stating that Salling pleaded guilty to child pornography charges. “Without you I would not have had the strength to speak up publicly about my ordeal. #metoo”

The new allegation comes as a gaggle of men in Hollywood, including comedian Louis CK, are following Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein down a road of sexual misconduct accusations.

Ed Westwick, perhaps best known as Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl, is denying rape allegations made by actress Kristina Cohen.

This is what 27-year-old Cohen said about the about the alleged assault that she says occurred three years ago in Westwick’s home:

I was briefly dating a producer who was friends with the actor Ed Westwick. It was this producer who brought me up to Ed’s house where I met Ed for the first time. I wanted to leave when Ed suggested “we should all fuck”. But the producer didn’t want to make Ed feel awkward by leaving. Ed insisted we stay for dinner. I said I was tired and wanted to leave, trying to get out of what was already an uncomfortable situation. Ed suggested I nap in the guest bedroom. The producer said we would stay for just another 20 more minutes to smooth everything over, and then we could leave.

So I went and laid down in the guest room where I eventually fell asleep, I was woken up abruptly by Ed on top of me, his fingers entering my body. I told him to stop, but he was strong. I fought him off as hard as I could but he grabbed my face in his hands, shaking me, telling me he wanted to fuck me. I was paralyzed, terrified. I couldn’t speak, I could no longer move. He held me down and raped me.

It was a nightmare, and the days following weren’t any better.
The producer put the blame on me, telling me I was an active participant. Telling me that I can’t say anything because Ed will have people come after me, destroy me, and that I could forget about an acting career. Saying there’s no way I can go around saying Ed “raped” me and that I don’t want to be “that girl.”

And for the longest time, I believed him. I didn’t want to be “that girl”.

The 30-year-old British actor posted his denial on social media saying he did “not know this woman” and “certainly” has “never committed rape.”
