If you’ve traded crowded beaches and insufferable traffic of Memorial Day weekend for an empty concrete jungle, one: Congratulations, you’ve made the right choice. Two, the city would like to reward you for your homebody decision-making skills with free museum entrance to pursue the halls at your leisure. The Museum of Fine Arts is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving members and nonmembers of all ages access to their latest exhibits, #techstyle, and Megacities Asia. Pieces inspired by Megacities from ArtLifting, an organization that works with disabled and homeless artists to help create, sell and profit from their creations, will also be on display and their makers will give chats throughout the day. Additionally, guests can partake in creating some art of their own, including a bird sculpture activity inspired by Hema Upadhyay’s work, Build me a nest so I can rest. Experts will be on hand to explain the migratory patterns of the feathered flocks featured in the exhibit while you craft your own clay creature.
