Gabrielle Union laid a legal smack down on BET and Breakdown Production, the entities responsible for her hit show, “Being Mary Jane.” The 42-year-old actress signed on for two more seasons of the show and it was agreed that each season would not surpass 13 episodes. But the wife of NBA baller Dwayne Wade found it shady that BET wanted to film two 10-episode seasons back-to-back, and claims that they actually intend to cram all 20 episodes into one season. This move would cheat Union out of her contractual raise from $150k per episode for season 4 to $160k per episode for season 5. “Being Mary Jane” is the highest rated show on BET and the networks has responded to the lawsuit, claiming that they are “within their rights.” Union is suing for breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation according to legal documentsobtained by E! News. Apparently when you try to play Gabby, you only play yourself.
