Gunman takes off with $8.7K from H&M store: Police

Employees at an H&M on the Upper East Side were in for a scare Saturday night when a gunman robbed the store while instructing them all to lie on the floor, according to police.

At about 11:23 p.m. the male suspect entered through the unlocked front door of the store located at 150 E. 86th St.

He then displayed a silver firearm and escorted a female victim, along with other employees, to the back of the store and told them all to get on the ground, cops said.

The man then went to the first floor register and told the manager to put all the money from the registers — a total of about $8,700 — into a plastic shopping bag, according to police.

The manager complied and the suspect then fled on foot out of store and eastbound on E. 86th Street.

According to the New York Post, the suspect stands at about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray skull cap, gray coat, sunglasses and a blue scarf.
