The MTA’s L Train service was still running with delays at the lunchtime hour approached after a broken rail earlier Monday halted service.
Some 8th Ave./Manhattan-bound trains were terminating at Bedford Ave. in Brooklyn as safety inspections and repairs were conducted.

Passengers are able to transfer at Bedford Avenue to the B39 Bus across the Williamsburg Bridge.
L train service in Manhattan for awhile only ran between 8th Ave. and 1st Ave.
Reports DNAinfo: “A train operater reported an unusual noise around 8:40 a.m. at the height of the morning rush, a spokeswoman for the MTA said. Service was halted soon after so a team of workers could inspect the tracks. The team determined the rail was broken at roughly 9:15 a.m.”
