Mindy Kaling is finally saying words about the baby inside of her!
“The Mindy Project” actress finally confirms, out of her own lips, that she is indeed pregnant and that she’s “really excited” about it. “It’s so unknown to me,” she says. “I have a lot of control over a lot of aspects of my life, and this is one where I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s out of my hands,’ which is kind of a fun feeling.”
She’s also looking forward to finally being able to criticize other people with babies, which I think is probably the only reason people have kids in the first place, right? “It’s so easy to criticize parenting until you’re a parent. So one of the nice things about becoming a parent is that I’ll be able to openly criticize other parenting because I will have a child.” LOL, Mindy still got it.
Kaling, who had a very close relationship with her late mother, hopes to give her kid the same support and open-mindedness that her own mother gave her, too. “[She was] incredibly fierce and so devoted to us,” Kaling remembers. “Just loved us and really wanted us to be happy no matter what we did. My career choice was not something she was familiar with and she was just so supportive of that.”
