City Hall Plaza will undergo a fairytale transformation this weekend. The Enchanted Forest exhibit is taking place at Government Center and should be a magical experience for anyone who stops by.
The Forest uses color, shape, shadow and music to create an immersive experience featuring multiple hands-on activities that are perfect for visitors of all ages.
The Enchanted Forest was created to highlight how important trees are to our public health infrastructure and is just one of the exhibitsat the Immersion art festival. The goal of the event is to awaken creativity and inspire innovation.
The festivities will feature dozens of live arts experiences on stages located around City Hall Plaza. The event will also include film screenings, dance performances, art displays and more. Immersion will be open to the public from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, however, The Enchanted Forest will be open throughout the day as well.
Immersion is one of the attractions of this year’s HUBweek, a five-day festival that explores the progress being made in Boston by celebrating the intersections of art, science and community. During the day, HUBweek attendees can check out over 175 free and low cost events around the city. At night, they can let loose at nightly parties that feature live performances, dance floors and geodesic domes.
HUBweek routinely brings some of some of the world’s greatest minds to town, and for 2017, a few big names are joining the party. Former Secretary of State John Kerry and former mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg will be in attendance, as well as Deepak Chopra and renowned journalist Malcolm Gladwell.
