Students and staff were evacuated from a Lawrence elementary school Monday when a fire broke out in a second-floor science lab.
Firefighters arrived around 8:30 a.m. and were able to extinguish the flames, but the Bruce School building is uninhabitable due to smoke and water damage, WBZ reported. No one was injured and no students were in the classroom when the fire broke out, but all 525 students and 70 teachers were evacuated, reported WCVB.
