A lot happened on Super Bowl Sunday. The Los Angeles Rams lost to the New England Patriots, Tom Brady won another ring, the Puppy and Kitty bowl were in full swing and NCIS dropped a bombshell during their Superbowl promo. Many fans are now wondering if Ziva played by Cote De Pablo will be returning to the popular investigation show after the promo teased her come-back after leaving over five years ago. Is Ziva David returning to NCIS?
An ad for the hit CBS show ran during the Super Bowl and it stirred up a lot of speculation. “You thought her story was over, now the biggest ‘NCIS’ secret of all will be revealed,” the promo teased. Ziva was written out of NCIS in 2013 after an eight-year run. Her character was supposedly killed off in a bombing incident- but she did leave a secret child behind who was fathered by fellow agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly).
Now the promo says that the former agent may not be dead at all. A release for the episode that is set to premiere on Feb. 12 reads “After a malnourished and confused 9-year-old is found hiding in a storage unit, NCIS reopens an old missing persons case when the girl is believed to be the daughter of a Navy recruit who disappeared 10 years ago,” states the release. “Also, (Ellie) Bishop discovers notes that Special Agent Ziva David kept on the case long after NCIS officially stopped investigating.”
So is Ziva David returning to NCIS? From the looks of the promo and now the release it seems that the rumors may, in fact, be true. Fans will have to tune in to the Feb. 12 episode to see what unfolds and find out what exactly has happened to Ziva after all this time.
