The 2010 internet campaign #donald4spiderman has finally paid off. Donald Glover is set to play a part in the upcoming Spider-Man movie.
Andrew Garfield rolled in great success with his role as the “Amazing Spiderman,” but, when a fan by the name of “Rootadoo” commented on an article calling out the white casting of the franchise, he volunteered Glover as the perfect actor to play the super hero. In 2011, the actor launched his rap career and created the stage name “Childish Gambino,” which, we might add, could also totally be a rad name for Spiderman’s next arch nemesis.
In the track “Not Going Back” he raps: “couldn’t see me as Spider-Man, but now I’m spittin’ venom. Now, you payin’ attention, pick your f–––n face up. When I wanna be a superhero I just wake up.” Spicy! It’s safe to say that Glover does NOT take rejection too kindly. Well, 2017 is looking up for you, Mr. Glover, you may not be Spiderman, but you’ll be getting that blockbuster salary.
