You may think cult show “Arrested Development” and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump would be worlds apart since one’s hilarious and the other can be, well, horrifying depending on which side of the fence you’re on. But thanks to NeverCaesar, the two meet in a mashup video that is so well done it almost appears to not be an illusion, Michael. Featuring clips of Ron Howard narrating the show created by Mitch Hurwitz, “Trump-rested Development” fact-checks Sunday’s presidential debate.
The video begins with Donald Trump boasting, “I was the one who got [President Obama] to produce the birth certificate, and I think I did a good job.”
“But he really didn’t,” Howard then narrates.
The rest of the video debunks several of Trump’s claims from the debate in “Arrested Development” style, including his denying that he saidpregnancy is an inconvenience to employers and saying that he has a good relationship with the black community. “Trump-rested Development” even got a stamp of approval from Hurwitz, who tweeted, “A sneak preview of Arrested Development Season 5” with a link to the video.
We can only hope that instead of going off on a tangent about something unrelated to a question he’s asked at the final presidential debate on Wednesday, Trump will save some time and just say, “I don’t understand the question, and I won’t respond to it” a la Lucille Bluth.
